这两个词组看着很像，但是，含义和用法却有着很大的差别。请看：

so that 引导目的状语从句或结果状语从句，意为“以便;是为了”“这样……就可以”“结果”，相当于in order to/so as to.常放于句中，但是in order to常放于句首或句中，so as to常放于句末。

so…that…意为“如此……以至于……”，so是副词，常常用来修饰形容词和副词，that引导结果状语从句（that也可以省略），在前后两个主语是同一个人或物时常和too…to…结构互换。
